Gender equality: one of the most important issues in contemporary society

One of the goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is to achieve gender equality. Gender equality is a topic that has been hotly debated in society. Since the beginning of the 21st century, countries around the world have made great progress in fighting for equality between men and women. However, many women and girls are still experiencing different levels of discrimination and violence. Either mentally or physically.

Why is gender equality so important?

Gender inequality stems from the notions and social systems of patriarchal society since ancient times. Human beings have entered modern society, technological innovation and social progress have changed people’s perspectives. Women’s status has improved significantly. Women and girls make up half of the world’s population. But gender inequality still exists. If gender equality is not guaranteed, social progress will stagnate. The growth and education of girls in some less developed countries and regions is really worrying. The inequalities that girls face have begun to emerge and have been supported throughout their lives. In some countries, girls do not have access to adequate medical care and nutrition and high mortality. Similarly, the effects of gender inequality on women are evident, which leads to educational disadvantages, but reduces access to skills for young women and limits opportunities in the labor market.

How to address gender equality?

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals has launched an initiative for all, if you are a child, you can stay in school and help classmates stay in school, as well as provide access to sexual and reproductive health services. The right to fight.

If you are a woman, you can address the unconscious prejudices and implicit connections that constitute barriers to equal opportunities, which are inadvertent and often invisible.

If you are a man, you can work with women and girls to achieve gender equality and adopt healthy relationships.

Gender equality is an important issue in contemporary society. To achieve true gender equality requires the joint efforts of all people and a long way to go.

  1. Sorry I’m late! First comment here I am~ ❤️
I do love your this article! We have the same opinion about gender quality. It’s an important issue in our world, and we should work hard on it. Indeed, it has a long way to go. BUT, if we all do it consciously, I believe that the future will be better. It is not only for woman, but for human. You can read the article I posted recently, which is about gender quality too. I hope you can get more information in my blog2~
    Best wishes~
    Love u~

  2. I also choose gender equality as the theme of blog2, and I believe we all have a great resonance in its importance! I strongly agree that achieving true gender equality requires the joint efforts of all people and a long way to go. I hope we can work together to promote gender equality through the small things we can do.
Btw, really hope to see you soon and take beautiful photos together! ~

  3. Women are a great force to promote social civilization. They are the cornerstone of the family,. Without their management and operation, there will be no warmth and harmony in each family. They are also glorious workers and builders, without their wisdom and sweat, China’s reform, opening up and modernization can not achieve such achievements today. We need to do a better job of gender equality in the future. And I believe the gender equality around the world will be achieved in the future. On the whole, your article is written very well.

  4. Sorry for the late comment~I love the simplicity and directness of your post. Reading your article, I suddenly thought of an Indian film I have seen before, named Padman. This is a film about the change of women’s conception of menstrual hygiene in India. Just like what you wrote, in the past and in many underdeveloped countries, girls’ basic living condition was hardly guaranteed. At the same time, due to the lag of education and other factors, women have accepted many wrong ideas that are against the reality. Influenced by these underlying beliefs, many women are unable to speak up for their rights, let alone gender equality. However, I believe that with the improvement of economic and educational level, these problems are gradually getting more and more people’s attention and solutions. Look forward to more changes in the future!!!

  5. I agree with you. Gender equality is not only a matter for women, but for all. I used to think that women should work more on gender equality, but women are also father’s daughter, husband’s wife, and son’s mother. For love, everyone should stand up.
